StormGuard Pro (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the StormGuard Pro mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use our Service.

By using StormGuard Pro, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: Name, email address, company name, job title, and password when you register.
  • Project information: Construction site details, permit numbers, addresses, GPS coordinates, phase of construction, and Stormwater Management Plan documents.
  • Inspection data: Completed inspection forms, weather conditions, area assessments, corrective action descriptions, and inspector notes.
  • Photos and media: Photos captured during inspections, including embedded GPS metadata, timestamps, and annotations.
  • Signatures: Finger-drawn digital signatures used to certify inspection reports.
  • Voice recordings: Audio recordings made for voice annotations (processed and stored as transcribed text).
  • Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Location data: GPS coordinates when you capture photos or start an inspection (with your permission).
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage data: Features used, screens viewed, and actions taken within the app.
  • Log data: IP address, browser type, and access times for website visits.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Service, including generating inspection reports and tracking corrective actions.
  • To run AI-powered photo analysis (photos are sent to OpenAI GPT-4o Vision and Anthropic Claude for BMP detection and annotation generation).
  • To auto-fill weather conditions at your inspection location via OpenWeatherMap.
  • To send push notifications for inspection due dates and corrective action deadlines.
  • To process payments through Stripe.
  • To respond to your support requests and communications.
  • To improve the Service, debug issues, and analyze usage patterns.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

Photos sent to OpenAI and Anthropic are processed solely for generating annotations and are not used to train AI models under our enterprise agreements with those providers.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encrypted storage, row-level security in our database, and access controls limiting who can view your organization's data.

Inspection reports and photos are stored in Supabase Storage with access controlled by signed URLs. Only members of your organization can access your projects and inspection data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we retain your data for 30 days to allow export, then permanently delete it. Audit logs are retained for 3 years to support regulatory compliance requirements.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access and export all data associated with your account at any time.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
  • Request information about how your data is processed.

8. Children's Privacy

StormGuard Pro is not directed to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
